There has been loads written about keystone habits (google it – you’ll see what I mean!) but in essence these are habits that create a positive momentum of such force that they have a domino effect on your life, or your business. A keystone habit becomes so central to your success that if you don’t do it things start to fail.
I have two. Personally, my keystone habit is 30 minutes of exercise very first thing in the morning. Professionally, it’s actually what I was doing right before I wrote this post – it’s a couple of hours planning for the week ahead, getting my calendar up to date, generally getting my act together, and making sure I am prepped for my upcoming client meetings. When I nurture these habits my life is simply better.
For a bigger business, a keystone habit is THE thing that will make your business hum, that will dislodge old patterns and create new powerful levers for growth and success. You have potentially got your keystone habit live within your business – that’s great. BUT are you using it as the strong lever for change or recognising it as the crucial process that keeps your business running as it should?
I love working on stuff like this – stuff that can have immediate positive impact on outcomes – coaching is not just a conversation – it’s an investment that can deliver tangible change in people and businesses when it’s done well. Please drop me an email if you’d like to know more about how I work – or about keystone habits!
