The Power of Reflection

My belief in the strength of reflection is obvious to anyone I coach – I will have mentioned it at some point – maybe more than once 🙂

Building in time to reflect on your day, consider what didn’t happen that you wanted to, working out what went well and why, what could have been done differently, is an incredibly powerful performance improvement programme.  Available to you free of charge.

I’d bet that if you asked someone you regard as highly successful, they will tell you that they have a way of reflecting on their day and reacting to those reflections.

Building reflective practice into your routines will help you manage situations better the next time round, enable you to work out how to manage you temper better in situations where you might flare up, and work out what enables you to perform at your best for most of the time.

The practice itself can be done any way you like – writing stuff down, or just thinking things through as you close down your day and prepare to go home  on your drive home, on your dive into work, in a morning workout, any time.  All you need is your own head and the will to learn from the person best able to help you improve at everything you do – yourself.

Try it, daily, for a week.  And then if you don’t learn anything from it, message me and we’ll have thirty minutes on the phone FOC working out what you aren’t doing to take advantage of your inner performance improvement coach.
